Breast Lift in Baltimore, MD

Welcome to Belcara! Our Baltimore breast lift surgeons understand that breast lift surgery is less about perky breasts and more about increasing both your comfort and your confidence. Whether you’re unhappy with your post-pregnancy breasts, weight loss has left your breasts looking a bit droopier, or you’ve had sagging breasts all your life, a breast lift can help you restore your breasts to be firmer and more youthful-looking.

Are you a good candidate for a breast lift?

So, what is a breast lift exactly? Also called a Mastopexy, a breast lift is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin in the breast area. It raises the breasts, but does not give you larger ones.

If you answer “yes” to any of the following questions, you are likely a good candidate for breast lift surgery:

  • Do your breasts appear deflated?
  • Is your skin stretched where your breasts meet your chest?
  • Do your nipples point down rather than forward?
  • Do your nipples sit below your natural breast crease?
  • Is finding a comfy, flattering bra difficult?

However, if you’re looking for larger (or smaller) breasts in addition to having them raised, a more appropriate procedure is a breast reduction or augmentation paired with a breast lift.

What does a breast lift in Baltimore, Maryland cost?

We understand that having a general range of procedure prices can be helpful so we are happy to provide estimated price ranges for the plastic surgery procedures we perform. The cost of a breast lift procedure in Baltimore starts at $7,000. We also offer a few types of different financing options

However, it’s important to note that any prices listed on the site are general estimates only. The best way to learn about mastopexy pricing is to schedule a consultation directly with one of our breast lift surgeons.

During your consultation, your surgeon will listen carefully to your concerns and goals and assess your medical history, lifestyle, and anatomy. Together, you both will review all your treatment options and develop a personalized breast surgery plan that meets all your needs. Only then are we able to provide an accurate price quote, which will include:

  • All visits before and after the procedure
  • Operating Room time and supplies
  • Surgeon’s fee
  • Anesthesia fees
  • All medical devices, implants, and support materials

What’re the benefits of getting a breast lift?

There are many breast lift surgery benefits, aside from increased confidence.  Some of them include:

  • You won’t be relying so much on your bras pulling up your breasts, so they’ll be more comfortable.
  • You won’t slide out of your swimsuit.
  • You’ll have better cleavage, so you will feel more confident in flattering low-cut tops.
  • Your clothing options will increase: your more symmetrical breasts will fit great into halter tops, bikinis, and bras.
  • The increased self-confidence you’ll feel can have a great effect on your relationships.

A Real Patient Talks About Her Breast Lift Experience

How Long Does a Breast Lift Procedure Take and How Does It Work?

At our Baltimore mastopexy center, a breast lift usually takes 2 to 3 hours and is performed on an outpatient basis with general anesthesia. Because your safety is our largest priority, we always work with board-certified MD anesthesiologists. After a short period in our recovery suite, you are able to return home.

Can your surgeons minimize breast lift scars?

Breast augmentation diagramAt Belcara, our surgeons use a breast lift technique that involves only 2 incisions instead of the usual 3. This not only reduces visible scarring but also results in a more attractive slope to the breast. It also takes less operating time and results in a faster recovery.

During your mastopexy, your surgeon will place incisions around the nipple and vertically down from the areola to remove extra skin from beneath the breast. The skin that was previously located above the nipple is brought together to fully reshape the breast, leaving you with firmer breasts that provide you with a more pleasing contour.

Do you perform breast lift procedures on-site? Where will the procedure take place?

Most mastopexy breast lift patients elect to have their procedures performed in our on-site surgery center. Our 5-star Baltimore breast lift facility, the Clarkview Surgical Center, was designed with the safety, comfort, privacy, and convenience of our patients in mind. It features state-of-the-art technology and meets the most rigorous safety standards. We are proud to be one of the few outpatient surgical facilities to earn AAAHC accreditation, as well as certifications from Medicare and the state of Maryland. Because safety is our first concern, all our breast lift surgical procedures are performed with board-certified anesthesiologists and registered nurses.

Dr. Cohen and his staff made me feel extremely comfortable. I was nervous before my appointment and they made sure I was relaxed and made me feel really good about myself. They were immensely informative and compassionate. Dr. Cohen made me look exactly the way I want to look. He is such an expert! I would not recommend anyone else! When you are his patient, you know you are utilizing the absolute best in the plastic surgery field. I would give him a 10/10 or a 5-star rating and I do not usually take the time to rate physicians.”

What should you expect during your breast lift recovery?

While every patient heals differently, most find breast lift recovery to be a smooth and relatively fast process. It’s common to have slight bruising, swelling, and tenderness, but this is usually very tolerable for the patient. Most of our patients only use prescription pain medications for the first few days before switching to Tylenol.

It’s important to follow your surgeon’s aftercare instructions during your mastopexy recovery so you can expect to gradually return to your daily activities. Generally speaking:

  • Patients stay down for the first 2 days after surgery. You are encouraged to walk around the house, but try to spend this time relaxing and letting your body heal.
  • Most patients with non-strenuous jobs return to work within a week.
  • Restrict strenuous activities for at least 1 to 2 weeks, including lifting or work involving the chest. You can ease back into aerobic exercise in around 3 to 4 weeks with the approval of your surgeon.

Can a breast lift be combined with another breast procedure?

Yes! While a breast lift alone is a fantastic option for improving breast shape, position, and symmetry, many women would also like to change the volume of their breasts. For these women, we often recommend a breast lift with breast augmentation or breast reduction to provide a well-proportioned, aesthetically pleasing breast contour and shape.

If you want smaller, lifted breasts – a breast reduction with a lift may be a better option for you. During this procedure, our Baltimore surgeons remove extra skin and glandular (breast) tissue to lift and reshape your breasts in addition to making them smaller and lighter.

If you want larger, lifted breasts – an increasingly popular option for our breast lift patients is to combine a breast lift with augmentation, which both removes the extra skin that contributes to sagging and also places the breast implants of your choice underneath the newly reshaped breast to create a more shapely, full, and youthful contour.
