Interested in a BOTOX Treatment? Here's what you'll want to know.

Everything You Need to Know About Your First BOTOX Appointment

Considering an injectable treatment at our med spa? It’s normal to be uncertain about what your first appointment really will be like. However, there’s little reason to worry: BOTOX treatments are performed by our team of aesthetic specialists, including a plastic surgeon, at our Baltimore practice. These skilled professionals are dedicated to providing safe, rewarding experiences from start to finish. You’re in highly qualified and experienced hands.

If you’re unsure what to expect during your first BOTOX appointment, here is some insight about what’s in store.

Step 1: Consultation

When you arrive at our office, you’ll meet with a member of our skilled injection team in a comfortable exam room. First, you’ll answer a few in-depth questions about your medical history, treatment goals, and potential concerns, as well as answering any questions you may have. Depending on your desired results, we may recommend complementary treatments, such as fillers, laser treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, skincare products, or others.

Step 2: Treatment

Once you’re ready to move forward with the treatment, we will precisely map out your injection sites. To do this, we will ask you to make various facial expressions such as smiling and frowning to help highlight your areas of concern.

After cleansing your skin, we will administer the BOTOX using a very fine needle, which most people say this feels like a bug bite. Most appointments only take about 30 minutes from start to finish.

Step 3: Recovery

BOTOX requires little to no downtime, so you’ll be able to head back to most of your daily activities right away. It’s best to avoid exercise and rubbing the area for the next few hours. You may experience some redness and swelling around the injection sites, though these are rare and should fade within 6-24 hours.

Step 4: Results

You’ll start to see results in about 3 to 7 days. These effects typically last for about 3 to 4 months, at which time you may want a follow-up treatment to maintain your look.

From the moment you walk through our doors, our experienced staff will be available to provide support and answer questions every step of the way. Whether you’re visiting us for your first BOTOX treatment or you’re a regular guest, we’re dedicated to making sure you have a positive experience and leave with results you love.
